Time for a change - after 119 years Donna & I have decided to change our retail business into a semi-retired concept. We will continue doing full repair services as well as custom work and promise to deliver the same high quality personal jewelr experience you've come to expect, that began in 1907 and continues today. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your special moments

Donna and I were humbled by the overwhelming response to our semi-retirement.   We look forward to spending more time with our grandchildren, having the flexibility to pursue our passions and enjoy life to the fullest.

As we transition to this next phase, our focus will be on a custom work, bridal and full-service repairs. We will be open Friday only from 10-4 for watch batteries, drop off and pick up of repairs.   Custom work can be done by appointment to pay close attention to detail and give you the personal service you deserve.

We will still be in the same location at 100 Water Street in downtown Skowhegan.

We will still be doing full-service jewelry repair where everything is done in-house by your jeweler.

We will still be your source for all custom work and bridal jewelry.

We will still be buying and selling Gold, Silver and Platinum.

We were thrilled to be able to offer discounted pricing to show our appreciation for the support this community has shown us for over a century. Many people stopped in to wish us well and share their stories. Stories of my Grandfather, who started this business in 1907. He was a man who loved this town, a town that welcomed him as an immigrant from Ukraine. One gentleman shared how he remembered being a young boy in the 60’s coming into the store with his parents, and every time he was in my grandfather would give him a nickel to go across the street to Peter Debe’s store and buy some candy.

Stories of my Dad, whose generosity was legendary. How he would extend credit with just a handshake. Not only in his own business but to other businesses throughout the area. How he would meet customers any time, day or night to change their watch battery, or help “get them out of the doghouse”. He passed away over 30 years ago, but weekly we hear stories of his kindness, and the impact he made on so many lives. He was a true gentleman. And my Mom, was just 20 years old when she moved to Skowhegan and joined our father in the store. She was a lady in every sense of the word. Our customers shared “If you wanted the perfect piece for your wife, go see Phillis, and she will take good care of you!”

Ricky said, “he was proud to be able to buy his wedding rings from Russakoff’s, like his parents and his grandparents”.

Susan shared “the very first piece of jewelry my husband gave me came from you, and I treasure it.”

Olive said “if I needed something truly special, there was only one place I would go”

And the stories continued………too many to share.

Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your special moments. Hope to see you on Fridays from 10-4 or by appointment for personal service.
